Welcome to Mobility With Melissa! My goal is to help people live with less pain in their body and retrain their nervous system to shed unnecessary stress. With a multidisciplinary approach you will be guided through strategic self-massage, breath techniques and corrective exercises in order to achieve overall wellness.
About Melissa
Leading group classes since 2009, I began teaching yoga in order to share the profound experience of reducing stress, anxiety and chronic back pain. After my first yoga teacher training I continued my education to become a personal trainer. In the gym setting I learned how to address achieving specific goals for my clients. Soon thereafter I began teaching Pilates, TRX and finally found what was missing with Tune Up Fitness® in 2015. I enjoy using strength training, Pilates, self-massage and mobility work to help my clients reduce pain and move more intelligently. Yoga breath work and mindfulness is incorporated into every modality that I instruct in an effort to reduce stress and fully inhabit the present moment. We only have this one precious body and I’m here to encourage you to love your soft-tissue suit every single day.
What is Yoga Tune Up?
Yoga Tune Up® is a fitness therapy format built around the three P's – Pain, Posture and Performance. It helps eradicate pain, improve posture and enhance performance through a unique blend of yoga, Corrective Exercise, Self-Massage, and Breath Strategies. By helping to identify and target your "body blind spots"; areas that are most overused, underused, or misused, YTU heals damaged muscle, increases strength and establishes healthy movement patterns.
